abf6666e26 perf(psci): get PMF timestamps with no cache flushes if possible
Whenever we have HW_ASSISTED_COHERENCY, caches are enabled early and we
let the cores do the cache maintenance on our behalf. This is true for
the PSCI stat timestamp capture and used to be the case. However, a
model bug required us to do the cache maintenance manually. That has
been fixed so we can revert back.

6d415de83f refactor(bl32): flush before console switch state
Move console_switch_state(CONSOLE_FLAG_RUNTIME) to sp_min_main() so
that this becomes the last call before bl32/sp_min exits. This also
ensures that console_flush() is called before switching console state
to runtime.

This patch mimics the behavior of console_switch_state() call in BL31
per this patch
https://review.trustedfirmware.org/c/TF-A/trusted-firmware-a/+/26771/4.

a03dafe516 feat(bl): add plat handler for image loading
In case of load error, platform may need to try another instance, either
from another storage, or from the same storage in case of PSA FWU. On
MTD devices such as NAND, it is required to define backup partitions.
A new function plat_setup_try_img_ops() should be called by platform
code to register handlers (plat_try_images_ops) to manage loading
other images.

af3e8e63b4 refactor(console): consolidate console runtime switch
Refactor console_flush() and console_switch_state(CONSOLE_FLAG_RUNTIME)
to bl31_main(). This has been done per the recommendation in TF-A
mailing list. These calls need to be the last calls, after any runtime
initialization has been done, before BL31 exits.

All platforms that override the generic implementation of
bl31_plat_runtime_setup() have been refactored. The console_flush()
and console_switch_state() calls have been removed as they become
part of bl31_main() function.

Any platform that don't need to make any change to the generic (weak)
implementation of bl31_plat_runtime_setup() don't need to override it
in their platforms.

c42d0d8754 fix(misra): fix MISRA defects
This patch resolves the MISRA issues reported in mailing list.
It addresses the following MISRA Rules violations - Rule 15.7 and
Rule 2.4.

* As per Rule 15.7, All if.. else if constructs should be terminated
with an else statement and hence the conditional block
has been changed to switch..case. Updated get_el_str() to include
all EL cases.

* As per Rule 2.4, A project should not contain unused tag declarations,
hence intr_type_desc tag is removed.

* bl31_lib_init is only used in translation unit and hence it's
declaration is removed from bl31.h and the definition is made static to
maintain visibility.

24a4a0a5ec fix(gic600): workaround for Part 1 of GIC600 erratum 2384374
GIC600 erratum 2384374 is a Category B erratum. Part 1 is fixed
in this patch, and the Part 1 failure mode is described as
'If the packet to be sent is a SET packet, then a higher priority SET
may not be sent when it should be until an unblocking event occurs.'

This is handled by calling gicv3_apply_errata_wa_2384374() in the
ehf_deactivate_priority() path, so that when EHF restores the priority
to the original priority, the interrupt packet buffered
in the GIC can be sent.

gicv3_apply_errata_wa_2384374() is the workaround for
the Part 2 of erratum 2384374 which flush packets from the GIC buffer
and is being used in this patch.

b90bbd1af4 refactor(console): flush before console_switch_state
TF-A plans to move console_flush() and
console_switch_state(CONSOLE_FLAG_RUNTIME) to the end of bl31_main()
before BL31 exits.

Add console_flush() in the generic implementation of
bl31_plat_runtime_setup() call so that platforms can implement or
follow the generic pattern to test this implementation before
console_flush() and console_switch_state() move to bl31_main().

f87e54f73c fix(ras): remove RAS_FFH_SUPPORT and introduce FFH_SUPPORT
This patch removes RAS_FFH_SUPPORT macro which is the combination of
ENABLE_FEAT_RAS and HANDLE_EA_EL3_FIRST_NS. Instead introduce an
internal macro FFH_SUPPORT which gets enabled when platforms wants
to enable lower EL EA handling at EL3. The internal macro FFH_SUPPORT
will be automatically enabled if HANDLE_EA_EL3_FIRST_NS is enabled.
FFH_SUPPORT along with ENABLE_FEAT_RAS will be used in source files
to provide equivalent check which was provided by RAS_FFH_SUPPORT
earlier. In generic code we needed a macro which could abstract both
HANDLE_EA_EL3_FIRST_NS and RAS_FFH_SUPPORT macros that had limitations.
Former was tied up with NS world only while the latter was tied to RAS
feature.

This is to allow Secure/Realm world to have their own FFH macros
in future.

632e5ffeb8 fix(gicv3): map generic interrupt type to GICv3 group
The generic interrupt controller identifies an interrupt based on its
type whereas the GIC uses the notion of groups to identify an
interrupt.

Currently, they are used interchangeably in GICv3 driver. It did not
cause any functional issues since the matching type and group had the
same value for corresponding macros. This patch makes the necessary
fixes.

The generic interrupt controller APIs, such as
plat_ic_set_interrupt_type map interrupt type to interrupt group
supported by the GICv3 IP. Similarly, other generic interrupt
controller APIs map interrupt group to interrupt type as needed.

This patch also changes the name of the helper functions to use group
rather than type for handling interrupts.

9202d51990 refactor(ras): replace RAS_EXTENSION with FEAT_RAS
The current usage of RAS_EXTENSION in TF-A codebase is to cater for two
things in TF-A :
1. Pull in necessary framework and platform hooks for Firmware first
   handling(FFH) of RAS errors.
2. Manage the FEAT_RAS extension when switching the worlds.

FFH means that all the EAs from NS are trapped in EL3 first and signaled
to NS world later after the first handling is done in firmware. There is
an alternate way of handling RAS errors viz Kernel First handling(KFH).
Tying FEAT_RAS to RAS_EXTENSION build flag was not correct as the
feature is needed for proper handling KFH in as well.

This patch breaks down the RAS_EXTENSION flag into a flag to denote the
CPU architecture `ENABLE_FEAT_RAS` which is used in context management
during world switch and another flag `RAS_FFH_SUPPORT` to pull in
required framework and platform hooks for FFH.

Proper support for KFH will be added in future patches.

BREAKING CHANGE: The previous RAS_EXTENSION is now deprecated. The
equivalent functionality can be achieved by the following
2 options:
 - ENABLE_FEAT_RAS
 - RAS_FFH_SUPPORT

7e619ecc89 refactor(aarch64): refactor usage of elx_panic
Currently we call el3_panic for panics from EL3 and elx_panic for
panics from lower ELs.

When we boot into a rich OS environment and interact with BL31 using
SMC/ABI calls and we can also decide to handle any lower EL panics in
EL3. Panic can occur in lower EL from rich OS or during SMC/ABI calls
after context switch to EL3.

But after booting into any rich OS we may land in panic either from
rich OS or while servicing any SMC call, here the logic to use
el3_panic or elx_panic is flawed as spsr_el3[3:0] is always EL3h
and end up in elx_panic even if panic occurred from EL3 during
SMC handling.

We try to decouple the elx_panic usage for its intended purpose,
introduce lower_el_panic which would call elx_panic, currently
lower_el_panic is called from default platform_ea_handle which
would be called due to panic from any of the lower ELs.

Also remove the weak linkage for elx_panic and rename it to
report_elx_panic which could be used with lower_el_panic.

da04341ed5 build: always prefix section names with .
Some of our specialized sections are not prefixed with the conventional
period. The compiler uses input section names to derive certain other
section names (e.g. `.rela.text`, `.relacpu_ops`), and these can be
difficult to select in linker scripts when there is a lack of a
delimiter.

This change introduces the period prefix to all specialized section
names.

BREAKING-CHANGE: All input and output linker section names have been
 prefixed with the period character, e.g. `cpu_ops` -> `.cpu_ops`.

8109d2dd69 Merge "Use constant stack size with RECLAIM_INIT_CODE" into integration 2020-10-29 18:00:13 +00:00
David Horstmann
3ed5606bd1 Use constant stack size with RECLAIM_INIT_CODE
Currently, when RECLAIM_INIT_CODE is set, the
stacks are scaled to ensure that the entirety
of the init section can be reclaimed as stack.

This causes an issue in lib/psci/aarch64/psci_helpers.S,
where the stack size is used for cache operations in
psci_do_pwrdown_cache_maintenance(). If the stacks
are scaled, then the PSCI code may fail to invalidate
some of the stack memory before power down.

Resizing stacks is also not good for stability in general,
since code that works with a small number of cores may
overflow the stack when the number of cores is increased.

Change to make every stack be PLATFORM_STACK_SIZE big,
and allow the total stack to be smaller than the
init section.

Any pages of the init section not reclaimed as
stack will be set to read-only and execute-never,
for security.

831b0e9824 Don't return error information from console_flush
And from crash_console_flush.

We ignore the error information return by console_flush in _every_
place where we call it, and casting the return type to void does not
work around the MISRA violation that this causes. Instead, we collect
the error information from the driver (to avoid changing that API), and
don't return it to the caller.

262aceaac4 ehf: use common priority level enumuration
'EHF' is used by RAS, SDEI, SPM_MM common frameworks.
If platform needs to plug-in specific handlers then
'PLAT_EHF_DESC' can be used to populate platform specific
priority levels.

92069086d6 Use true instead of 1 in while
This resolves MISRA defects such as:

    plat/common/plat_bl1_common.c:63:[MISRA C-2012 Rule 14.4 (required)]
The condition expression "1" does not have an essentially boolean type.

d74c6b8336 Prevent colliding identifiers
There was a collision between the name of the typedef in the CASSERT and
something else, so we make the name of the typedef unique to the
invocation of DEFFINE_SVC_UUID2 by appending the name that's passed into
the macro. This eliminates the following MISRA violation:

    bl1/bl1_main.c:233:[MISRA C-2012 Rule 5.6 (required)] Identifier
"invalid_svc_uuid" is already used to represent a typedef.

This also resolves MISRA rule 5.9.

These renamings are as follows:
  * tzram -> secram. This matches the function call name as it has
  sec_mem in it's name
  * fw_config_base -> config_base. This file does not mess with
hw_conig, so there's little chance of confusion

6f0a2f04ab SMCCC: Introduce function to check SMCCC function availability
Currently, 'SMCCC_ARCH_FEATURES' SMC call handler unconditionally
returns 'SMC_OK' for 'SMCCC_ARCH_SOC_ID' function. This seems to
be not correct for the platform which doesn't implement soc-id
functionality i.e. functions to retrieve both soc-version and
soc-revision.
Hence introduced a platform function which will check whether SMCCC
feature is available for the platform.

Also, updated porting guide for the newly added platform function.
