69542d0692 led: update LED boot/activity to new property implementation
Update LED boot/activity to reference by phandle instead of label and
add to period property the "-ms" suffix.
This is a followup request by dt-schema maintainers that required LED
node to be referenced by a phandle to the node instead of indirectly by
the LED label and for timevalue to have a suffix.

While at it generalize the LED node label parsing since the logic is
common for generic LED bind and LED activity/boot.

47e544f576 Merge patch series "Tidy up use of 'SPL' and CONFIG_SPL_BUILD"
Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> says:

When the SPL build-phase was first created it was designed to solve a
particular problem (the need to init SDRAM so that U-Boot proper could
be loaded). It has since expanded to become an important part of U-Boot,
with three phases now present: TPL, VPL and SPL

Due to this history, the term 'SPL' is used to mean both a particular
phase (the one before U-Boot proper) and all the non-proper phases.
This has become confusing.

For a similar reason CONFIG_SPL_BUILD is set to 'y' for all 'SPL'
phases, not just SPL. So code which can only be compiled for actual SPL,
for example, must use something like this:

   #if defined(CONFIG_SPL_BUILD) && !defined(CONFIG_TPL_BUILD)

In Makefiles we have similar issues. SPL_ has been used as a variable
which expands to either SPL_ or nothing, to chose between options like
CONFIG_BLK and CONFIG_SPL_BLK. When TPL appeared, a new SPL_TPL variable
was created which expanded to 'SPL_', 'TPL_' or nothing. Later it was
updated to support 'VPL_' as well.

This series starts a change in terminology and usage to resolve the
above issues:

- The word 'xPL' is used instead of 'SPL' to mean a non-proper build
- A new CONFIG_XPL_BUILD define indicates that the current build is an
  'xPL' build
- The existing CONFIG_SPL_BUILD is changed to mean SPL; it is not now
defined for TPL and VPL phases
- The existing SPL_ Makefile variable is renamed to SPL_
- The existing SPL_TPL Makefile variable is renamed to PHASE_

It should be noted that xpl_phase() can generally be used instead of
the above CONFIGs without a code-space or run-time penalty.

This series does not attempt to convert all of U-Boot to use this new
terminology but it makes a start. In particular, renaming spl.h and
common/spl seems like a bridge too far at this point.

The series is fully bisectable. It has also been checked to ensure there
are no code-size changes on any commit.

aad8cfa3ca led: implement LED activity API
Implement LED activity API similar to BOOT LED API.

Usual activity might be a file transfer with TFTP, a flash write...

User of this API will call led_activity_on/off/blink() to signal these
kind of activity.

New Kconfig is implemented similar to BOOT LED, LED_ACTIVITY to
enable support for it.

It's introduced a new /options/u-boot property "activity-led" and
"activity-led-period" to define the activity LED label and the
default period when the activity LED is set to blink mode.

If "activity-led-period" is not defined, the value of 250 (ms) is
used by default.

If CONFIG_LED_BLINK or CONFIG_LED_SW_BLINK is not enabled,
led_boot_blink call will fallback to simple LED ON.

914fd75a5d led: implement LED boot API
Implement LED boot API to signal correct boot of the system.

led_boot_on/off/blink() are introduced to turn ON, OFF and BLINK the
designated boot LED.

New Kconfig is introduced, CONFIG_LED_BOOT to enable the feature.
This makes use of the /options/u-boot property "boot-led" to the
define the boot LED.
It's also introduced a new /options/u-boot property "boot-led-period"
to define the default period when the LED is set to blink mode.

If "boot-led-period" is not defined, the value of 250 (ms) is
used by default.

If CONFIG_LED_BLINK or CONFIG_LED_SW_BLINK is not enabled,
led_boot_blink call will fallback to simple LED ON.

To cache the data we repurpose the now unused led_uc_priv for storage of
global LED uclass info.

8877bc51a8 Merge patch series "led: implement software blinking"
Mikhail Kshevetskiy <mikhail.kshevetskiy@iopsys.eu> says:

v2 changes:
 * Drop sw_blink_state structure, move its necessary fields to
   led_uc_plat structure.
 * Add cyclic_info pointer to led_uc_plat structure. This
   simplify code a lot.
 * Remove cyclic function search logic. Not needed anymore.
 * Fix blinking period. It was twice large.
 * Other cleanups.

v3 changes:
 * Adapt code to recent cyclic function changes
 * Move software blinking functions to separate file
 * Other small changes

v4 changes:
 * Refactoring of led_set_period() function

v5 changes
 * Fix compilation if CONFIG_LED_BLINK is not defined

v6 changes:
 * Enable LEDST_BLINK state unconditionally.
 * Function led_set_period() becomes available when CONFIG_LED_BLINK
is disabled. This makes led code simpler.
 * Software blinking requires about 100 bytes of data for a led. It's
not a good idea to allocate so much memory for each supported led.
Change the code to allocate blinking data only for required leds.

f9dc67d18e led: add TI LP5562 LED driver
Driver for the TI LP5562 4 channel LED controller. Supports
independent on/off control of all 4 channels. Supports LED_BLINK on 3
independent channels: blue/green/red. The white channel can blink, but
shares the blue channel blink rate.

Heavily based on patch originally from Doug Zobel [1].

I have modified it so it matches the DT bindings in the linux tree,
and also follows the linux driver implementation more closely. This
should address Tom's concerns, and also matches my goal of making the
U-Boot driver work with our existing .dts which is known to work in
linux.

As our boards only have the R,G,B outputs connected, I have not
actually tested how the white channel behaves, but the R,G,B work
exactly as expected.

067e4ce35b led-uclass: do not create fallback label for top-level node
Many existing drivers, and led-uclass itself, rely on uc_plat->label
being NULL for the device representing the top node, as opposed to the
child nodes representing individual LEDs. This means that the drivers
whose .probe methods rely on this were broken by commit 83c63f0d11
("led: Move OF "label" property parsing to core"), and also that the top
node wrongly shows up with 'led list'.

Binding the same driver to the top node as to the individual child
nodes is arguably wrong, and the approach of using a UCLASS_NOP driver
for the top node is probably better - this has for example been done in
commit 0107469780 ("led: gpio: Use NOP uclass driver for top-level
node") and commit 910b01c27c ("drivers: led: bcm6753: do not use null
label to find the top")

Until remaining affected drivers are fixed, we can use a heuristic
that only sets the label to the fallback value derived from the node
name if the node does not have a "compatible" property - i.e., if it
has been bound to the LED driver explicitly via
device_bind_driver_to_node(). This is similar to what commit
e3aa76644c ("led: gpio: Check device compatible string to determine
the top level node") did for gpio_led, but that fix was then supplanted
by commit 0107469780 ("led: gpio: Use NOP uclass driver for top-level
node")

83c63f0d11 led: Move OF "label" property parsing to core
Every driver in drivers/led/ currently does some form of "label" OF
property parsing in its bind() callback. Move this label parsing to
LED core, since this "label" OF property is a generic property. This
permits code deduplication in subseuqent patches.

877de2a369 drivers: led: bcm6858: Set a default brightness when probing LEDs
When probing the LEDs, a default brightness is set based on settings
from the U-Boot device tree, i.e. the 'default-brightness' property
of the LED nodes. If that property is not present, the default
maximum brightness is set.
This should make sure the LED controller's registers affecting the
brightness are correctly initialized and should give a consistent
behaviour.
