9830698765 dm: core: Drop the const from ofnode
Now that we support writing to ofnodes, the const is not accurate. Drop
it to avoid undesirable casting.

Also drop the ofnode_to_npw() which is now the same as ofnode_to_np().

This function currently assumes that the control FDT is used. Update it
to allow a root node to be passed, so it can work with any tree.

39e42be12b dm: core: Allow writing to a flat tree with ofnode
In generally it is not permitted to implement an ofnode function only for
flat tree or live tree. Both must be supported. Also the code for
live tree access should be in of_access.c rather than ofnode.c which is
really just for holding the API-conversion code.

Update ofnode_write_prop() accordingly and fix the test so it can work
with flat tree too.

331048471d dm: core: Introduce support for multiple trees
At present ofnode only works with a single device tree, for the most part.
This is the control FDT used by U-Boot.

When booting an OS we may obtain a different device tree and want to
modify it. Add some initial support for this into the ofnode API.

Note that we don't permit aliases in this other device tree, since the
of_access implementation maintains a list of aliases collected at
start-up. Also, we don't need aliases to do fixups in the other FDT. So
make sure that flat tree and live tree processing are consistent in this
area.

123ca114e0 net: introduce helpers to get PHY interface mode from a device/ofnode
Add helpers ofnode_read_phy_mode() and dev_read_phy_mode() to parse the
"phy-mode" / "phy-connection-type" property. Add corresponding UT test.

Use them treewide.

This allows us to inline the phy_get_interface_by_name() into
ofnode_read_phy_mode(), since the former is not used anymore.

f3dd213e15 net: introduce helpers to get PHY ofnode from MAC
Add helpers ofnode_get_phy_node() and dev_get_phy_node() and use it in
net/mdio-uclass.c function dm_eth_connect_phy_handle(). Also add
corresponding UT test.

This is useful because other part's of U-Boot may want to get PHY ofnode
without connecting a PHY.

075bfc9575 dm: core: Add a way to obtain a string list
At present we support reading a string list a string at a time. Apart
from being inefficient, this makes it impossible to separate reading of
the devicetree into the of_to_plat() method where it belongs, since any
code which needs access to the string must read it from the devicetree.

Add a function which returns the string property as an array of pointers
to the strings, which is easily used by clients.

7de8bd03c3 treewide: fdt: Move fdt_get_config_... to ofnode_conf_read...
The current API is outdated as it requires a devicetree pointer.

Move these functions to use the ofnode API and update this globally. Add
some tests while we are here.

Correct the call in exynos_dsim_config_parse_dt() which is obviously
wrong.

Fixed a defect of a null pointer being discovered by Coverity Scan:
   CID 331544:  Null pointer dereferences  (REVERSE_INULL)
   Null-checking "size" suggests that it may be null, but it has already been
   dereferenced on all paths leading to the check.

a47abd7bf4 Revert "fdt: translate address if #size-cells = <0>"
This reverts commit d64b9cdcd4.

As pointed by [1] and [2], the reverted patch made every DT 'reg'
property translatable. What the patch was trying to fix was fixed in a
different way from previously submitted patches which instead of
correcting the generic address translation function fixed the issue with
appropriate platform code.

401d1c4f5d common: Drop asm/global_data.h from common header
Move this out of the common header and include it only where needed.  In
a number of cases this requires adding "struct udevice;" to avoid adding
another large header or in other cases replacing / adding missing header
files that had been pulled in, very indirectly.   Finally, we have a few
cases where we did not need to include <asm/global_data.h> at all, so
remove that include.

d64b9cdcd4 fdt: translate address if #size-cells = <0>
The __of_translate_address routine translates an address from the
device tree into a CPU physical address. A note in the description of
the routine explains that the crossing of any level with
since inherited from IBM. This does not happen for Texas Instruments, or
at least for the beaglebone device tree. Without this patch, in fact,
the translation into physical addresses of the registers contained in the
am33xx-clocks.dtsi nodes would not be possible. They all have a parent
with #size-cells = <0>.

The CONFIG_OF_TRANSLATE_ZERO_SIZE_CELLS symbol makes translation
possible even in the case of crossing levels with #size-cells = <0>.

The patch acts conservatively on address translation, except for
removing a check within the of_translate_one function in the
drivers/core/of_addr.c file:

There are two reasons:
1 The function of_empty_ranges_quirk always returns false, invalidating
  the following if statement in case of null ranges. Therefore one of
  the two checks is useless.

2 The implementation of the of_translate_one function found in the
  common/fdt_support.c file has removed this check while keeping the one
  about the 1:1 translation.

The patch adds a test and modifies a check for the correctness of an
address in the case of enabling translation also for zero size cells.
The added test checks translations of addresses generated by nodes of
a device tree similar to those you can find in the files am33xx.dtsi
and am33xx-clocks.dtsi for which the patch was created.

The patch was also tested on a beaglebone black board. The addresses
generated for the registers of the loaded drivers are those specified
by the AM335x reference manual.

ec1add1e51 dm: core: Inline a few ofnode functions in SPL
A recent change to unify the flattree/livetree code introduced a small
size increase in SPL on some boards. For example SPL code size for
px30-core-ctouch2-px30 increased by 40 bytes.

To address this we can take advantage of the fact that some of the ofnode
functions are only called a few times in SPL, so it is worth inlining
them.

Add new Kconfig options to control this. These functions are not inlined
for U-Boot proper, since this increases code size.

89f68302ca dm: add cells_count parameter in *_count_phandle_with_args
The cell_count argument is required when cells_name is NULL.

This patch adds this parameter in live tree API
- of_count_phandle_with_args
- ofnode_count_phandle_with_args
- dev_count_phandle_with_args

This parameter solves issue when these API is used to count
the number of element of a cell without cell name. This parameter
allow to force the size cell.

For example:
  count = dev_count_phandle_with_args(dev, "array", NULL, 3);

But this argument is not provided to the live DT function

This patch adds support of the cells_count parameter in dev_ and
of_node API to allow migration and support of live DT:

ae6b33dcc3 dm: fix ofnode_read_addr/size_cells()
In the case of the live tree ofnode_read_addr_cells() and
ofnode_read_size_cells() return the #address-cells and #size-cells defined
in the parent node. With the patch the same is done for a non-live tree.

The only consumer of these functions is currently the CFI flash driver.

This patch fixes the incorrect parsing of the device tree leading to
'saveenv' failing on qemu_arm64_defconfig.

For testing qemu-system-aarch64 has to be called with

    -drive if=pflash,format=raw,index=1,file=envstore.img

to provide the flash memory. envstore.img must be 64 MiB large.

336d4615f8 dm: core: Create a new header file for 'compat' features
At present dm/device.h includes the linux-compatible features. This
requires including linux/compat.h which in turn includes a lot of headers.
One of these is malloc.h which we thus end up including in every file in
U-Boot. Apart from the inefficiency of this, it is problematic for sandbox
which needs to use the system malloc() in some files.

Move the compatibility features into a separate header file.

14ca9f7f5a dm: core: Rename ofnode_get_chosen_prop()
This function is actually intended to read a string rather than a
property. All of its current callers use it that way. Also there is no way
to return the length of the property from this function.

Rename it to better indicate its purpose, using ofnode_read as the prefix
since this matches most other functions.

Also add some tests which are missing for these functions.

8f0a70e816 core: ofnode: do not assert if node not valid in ofnode_get_name()
In some case with LIVE DT, some node always not valid, or not have
a valid name, eg. blk driver add by mmc.
Return fail instead of Assert for this kind of ofnode, and this
help with assert happen from time to time when of_live is enabled
and DEBUG is enabled.

- fdt_translate_dma_address()
These functions work the same way as xxx_translate_address(), with the
difference that the translation relies on the "dma-ranges" property
instead of the "ranges" property.

Add related test. Test report:

b061ef39c3 core: ofnode: Have ofnode_read_u32_default return a u32
It was returning an int, which doesn't work if the u32 it is reading,
or the default value, will overflow a signed int.

While it could be made to work, when using a C standard/compiler where
casting negative signed values to unsigned has a defined behavior,
combined with careful casting, it seems obvious one is meant to use
ofnode_read_s32_default() with signed values.
