RELEASE NOTES ROSA 2014.1 Fresh
|

|
|
DISTRIBUTION
|
|
|
|
ROSA 2014.1 Fresh will be available in the following editions:
|
|
|
|
1. ROSA 2014.1 Fresh LiveDVD KDE4 Extended Edition for i586 and x86_64
|
|
architectures, including non-free components and proprietary software
|
|
(such as multimedia codecs). Note that laws of some countries may forbid
|
|
usage of some of these components! In this release added and enabled main,
|
|
non-free and restricted media.
|
|
|
|
2. ROSA 2014.1 Fresh LiveCD Gnome Extended Edition for i586 and x86_64 architectures.
|
|
|
|
Some more editions may be will available later (community edition):
|
|
|
|
3. ROSA 2014.1 Fresh LiveCD LXDE Free Edition for i586 and x86_64 architectures.
|
|
|
|
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
|
|
|
|
* 780 MB RAM (recommends 1Gb)
|
|
* 10 GB free HDD space
|
|
* VGA display with resolution 1024x768
|
|
* Keyboard, mouse
|
|
* DVD/flash for installation
|
|
|
|
DEPRECATION
|
|
|
|
Xfce and some other Desktop Environments (DE) and Window Managers (WM)
|
|
are no longer included in the official ROSA packages. Contribution packages
|
|
from the ROSA community are available for these desktop environments however.
|
|
|
|
We have updated and improved functionality of these components in the
|
|
following areas:
|
|
|
|
* Hardware support for modern devices
|
|
* Improved installer with lots of fixes
|
|
* A lot of patches and fixes developed after ROSA 2012.1 release
|
|
|
