36e3d877cd feat(tpm): add tpm drivers and framework
Add tpm2 drivers to tf-a with adequate framework
-implement a fifo spi interface that works
 with discrete tpm chip.
-implement tpm command layer interfaces that are used
to initialize, start and make measurements and
 close the interface.
-tpm drivers are built using their own make file
to allow for ease in porting across platforms,
 and across different interfaces.

3201faf356 feat(tc): provide target_locality info of AP FW components
The target_locality attribute is meant to specify that
a certain SW component is expected to run and thereby
send DPE commands from a given security domain. The DPE
service must be capable of determining the locality of
a client on his own. RSE determines the client's locality
based on the MHU channel used for communication.

If the expected locality (specified by the parent component)
is not matching with the determined locality by DPE
service then command fails.

The goal is to protect against spoofing when a
context_handle is stolen and used by a component
that should not have access.

8e0fd0bfb0 refactor(dice): save parent context handle
Improve the restart handling of DPE. In the case of a restart
scenario where only that core is restarted which executes
the DPE client, but the core executes the DPE service
remains up and running. In this case, client needs to save
a valid context handle to be able to send commands again
to the DPE service during the new boot sequence.

BL1 saves a valid parent context handle to SDS
before passing the execution to BL2. This handle
can be used in case of a restart scenario when AP
is restarted but RSE is not. Because in that case
RSE does not save an initial context handle to SDS,
which meant to be used by AP during the boot process.

By then the very first initial context handle is
invalidated because it was already used in the
previous boot cycle by BL1.

BL2 does not need to do this, because the cold
boot starts with BL1.

6a415bd1e7 feat(dice): add cert_id argument to dpe_derive_context()
This custom argument is meant to simplify to group
components into certificates. Components with
the same cert_id contribute to the same certificate
regardless of the load order or the structure of the
derivation tree. This argument aims to flatten the tree
structure and make it easy to include branches or
subtrees in the main derivation line.

467bdf26b6 feat(tc): get the parent component provided DPE context_handle
Each client who wants to communicate with the DPE service
must own a valid context handle issued by the DPE service.
A context handle can be used for a single time then it will
be invalidated by the DPE service. In case of calls from
the same component, the next valid context handle is
returned in the response to a DPE command. When a component
finishes their job then the next component in the boot flow
inherits its first context handle from its parent.
How the inheritance is done can be client or
platform-dependent. It can be shared through shared
memory or be part of a DTB object passed to the next
bootloader stage.

36bcf10c23 refactor(rss): make RSS driver standalone for Measured Boot
Currently, Measured Boot RSS driver gathers data from platform calls,

For this purpose, RSS Measured Boot driver interface APIs were updated
and platform calls were removed from RSS Measured Boot driver.

96f715eb84 Merge "fix(measured-boot): clear the entire digest array of Startup Locality event" into integration 2022-06-28 09:33:44 +02:00
Manish V Badarkhe
70b1c02500 fix(measured-boot): clear the entire digest array of Startup Locality event
According to TCG PC Client Platform Firmware Profile Specification
(Section 10.2.2, TCG_PCR_EVENT2 Structure, and 10.4.5 EV_NO_ACTION Event
Types), all EV_NO_ACTION events shall set TCG_PCR_EVENT2.digests to all
0x00's for each allocated Hash algorithm.

Right now, this is not enforced. Only part of the buffer is zeroed due
to the wrong macro being used for the size of the buffer in the clearing
operation (TPM_ALG_ID instead of TCG_DIGEST_SIZE). This could confuse
a TPM event log parser.

Also, add an assertion to ensure that the Event Log size is large enough
before writing the Event Log header.

78da42a5f1 refactor(measured-boot): mb algorithm selection
With RSS now introduced, we have 2 Measured Boot backends. Both backends
can be used in the same firmware build with potentially different hash
algorithms, so now there can be more than one hash algorithm in a build.
Therefore the logic for selecting the measured boot hash algorithm needs
to be updated and the coordination of algorithm selection added. This is
done by:

- Adding MBOOT_EL_HASH_ALG for Event Log to define the hash algorithm
to replace TPM_HASH_ALG, removing reference to TPM.

- Adding MBOOT_RSS_HASH_ALG for RSS to define the hash algorithm to
replace TPM_HASH_ALG.

- Coordinating MBOOT_EL_HASH_ALG and MBOOT_RSS_HASH_ALG to define the
Measured Boot configuration macros through defining
TF_MBEDTLS_MBOOT_USE_SHA512 to pull in SHA-512 support if either
backend requires a stronger algorithm than SHA-256.

48ba0345f7 feat(measured_boot): image hash measurement and recording in BL1
It looks safer and cleaner approach to record the measurement taken by
BL1 straightaway in TCG Event Log instead of deferring these recordings
to BL2.
Hence pull in the full-fledged measured boot driver into BL1 that
replaces the former ad-hoc platform interfaces i.e.
bl1_plat_set_bl2_hash, bl2_plat_get_hash.

measurements and recordings of below images:
1. FW_CONFIG
2. TB_FW_CONFIG
3. BL2

efa6521878 refactor(measured boot): remove platform calls from Event Log driver
Currently, the Event Log driver does platform layer work by invoking

8cd09cfc91 refactor(measured boot): move BL2 measurement to platform layer
Right now, event_log_init() does 2 things:
1) It writes all the necessary TCG data structures in the event log buffer.
2) It writes the first measurement (BL2's).

Step 2) introduces in the TCG event log driver an assumption on what
is getting measured and in what order. Ideally, the driver should only
be concerned about generic operations, such as initializing the event
log or recording a measurement in it. As much as possible, we should
design the driver such that it could be reused in another project that
has a different measure boot flow.

For these reasons, move step 2) up to the caller, plat_mboot_init() in
this case. Make event_log_record() a public function for this purpose.

This refactoring will also help when we make BL1 record BL2's
measurement into the event log (instead of BL2). Both BL1 and BL2 will
need to call the driver's init function but only BL1 will need
recording BL2's measurement. We can handle this through different
implementations of plat_mboot_init() for BL1 and BL2, leaving the TCG
event log driver unchanged.

47bf3ac31e feat(measured boot): move init and teardown functions to platform layer
Right now, the measured boot driver is strongly coupled with the TCG
event log driver. It would not be possible to push the measurements
somewhere else, for instance to a physical TPM.

To enable this latter use case, turn the driver's init and teardown
functions into platform hooks. Call them bl2_plat_mboot_init()/finish().
This allows each platform to implement them appropriately, depending on
the type of measured boot backend they use. For example, on a platform
with a physical TPM, the plat_mboot_init() hook would startup the TPM
and setup it underlying bus (e.g. SPI).

Move the current implementation of the init and teardown function to the
FVP platform layer.

Finally move the conditional compilation logic (#if MEASURED_BOOT) out
of bl2_main() to improve its readability. Provide a dummy implementation
in the case measured boot is not included in the build.

4a24707f94 refactor(measured boot): rename tpm_record_measurement()
tpm_record_measurement() function name suggests that:

 - It only records a measurement but does not compute it.
This is not the case, the function does both.

 - It stores this measurement into a TPM (discrete chip or fTPM).
This is not the case either, the measurement is just stored into
the event log, which is a data structure hold in memory, there is
   no TPM involvement here.

To better convey the intent of the function, rename it into
event_log_measure_and_record().

0c83207a55 refactor(measured boot): revisit error handling (2/3)
- In add_event2():

Turn the first error condition checking whether there is room for an
extra event2 data structure into an assertion. The platform layer is
responsible for choosing an appropriate event log buffer size based
on the number of measurements it expects. If this assertion fires,
the platform macro EVENT_LOG_SIZE should be adjusted and the
  firmware recompiled.

Call this assumption out in the function documentation.

Also remove the second error condition check, which is a subset of
the first one and thus is redundant.

As a result of these changes, add_event2() can no longer fail. Thus,
change its return type from int to void.

Also, the 'size_of_event' local variable is now unused in release
builds so remove it and move its value into the assertion.

ddb07a5689 refactor(measured boot): revisit error handling (1/3)
- In event_log_init():

Throughout the function, we are incrementing a pointer by some fixed
amounts of bytes (corresponding to the size of some data structure or

c04cb15cfa refactor(measured boot): remove weak definition of plat_get_measured_boot_data()
Weak definitions are confusing and should be avoided if possible.
Thus, turn plat_get_measured_boot_data() into a strong definition that
platforms must provide (if they need measured boot).

We could have moved the old weak implementation under plat/common as a
sane, default implementation that platforms may pull in if it suits
them. However, this implementation right now simply measures BL2,
which is not enough to get a complete measured boot flow, so this
patch just removes it.

This change only affects the Arm FVP platform, as no other upstream
platform implements measured boot at the moment.

6ac269d16c Select the Log Level for the Event Log Dump on Measured Boot at build time.
Builds in Debug mode with Measured Boot enabled might run out of trusted
SRAM. This patch allows to change the Log Level at which the Measured Boot
driver will dump the event log, so the latter can be accessed even on
Release builds if necessary, saving space on RAM.
